Meet the folks behind FOLK2FOLK.
I've had a varied career, being a banker to the aristocracy and A-list Hollywood film stars. Over the last 20 years, I have focused on Risk and Portfolio Management, being responsible for global asset management, including landmark real estate projects, rail networks, aviation and marine portfolios. I have a personal interest in property renovation, with a particular interest in sustainable property development. I love spending time with my grandchildren… a great joy of my life.
I’ve been involved in the financial services industry since I headed south from Glasgow at the beginning of 1988 with the intentions of returning a couple of years later.
Having then married and settled with a family down south, I found myself, over three decades later, and having accumulated experiences in the retail, SME, corporate and leveraged finance markets (across sales, risk management and operational functions) with an opportunity to support Folk2Folk’s mission to put the humanity back into finance and create prosperity for Britain’s regions.
Finance should be a people business and that’s why I’m so excited to be working for Folk2Folk.
In my spare time, I’m devoted to family so that usually involves either acting as chief washer up or taxi driver, dependent upon who is seeking my services.
I have 10 years’ experience in financial and customer services and joined FOLK2FOLK as the ISA Manager. I've recently been promoted to Head of Customer Services and it’s great to be able to use the skills and knowledge I’ve built over the years. Outside of work I enjoy anything outdoors, walking my dogs, surfing and camping.
I have worked in finance throughout my working life covering Sales, Underwriting, Customer Services, Project Analyst and Collections. I have recently joined FOLK2FOLK as Business Administration Officer where I hope to add to my skills and knowledge. My spare time usually involves dog walks and watching all kinds of sport.
After nearly 29 years in banking, it’s so refreshing to have something different to offer clients. Helping both Lenders and Borrowers really makes my day! When I’m not here, I’m often out on my bike and have challenged myself to complete the Windsor Triathlon in 2018!
After nearly 35 years in banking. I am delighted to be part of a company actively supporting small Businesses. I have worked in banking for over 30 years, working my way up through the grades . I have worked in a frontline lending role across most Industry sectors for 20 years working within SME and Corporate sectors in both Business Development and Relationship Management roles. I have experience of Wholesale funding, Asset Finance, Revolving Finance, Term loans and working capital requirements. Outside of work, I enjoy walking the dog and all water sports, just enjoying all the Cornish coastline has to offer.
I have worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 30 years and at FOLK2FOLK for 3 years. My role within FOLK2FOLK is the manager of the Loan Matching team. I contact lenders when a loan becomes available to give the details of the opportunity to ascertain if the client would like to lend. I enjoy speaking with clients on a daily basis and maintain a close relationship with them. On a personal level, I enjoy cooking, gardening and walking – one of my favourite places being the Isles of Scilly.
I have worked for RCI Banque for 20 years, under the Renault and Nissan brands. In various roles covering retail and fleeting underwriting and then in Network Dealer Funding with my own portfolio of car dealers and fleet businesses.
I took a bit of a career break when we moved down to Cornwall 5 years ago but had the opportunity to work again with RCI within the 1st year of COVID. I realised how much I had missed working in finance, so when I was offered this new role of Credit Officer I gladly took the chance. I look forward to developing this role and facing whatever new opportunities lie ahead.
In my spare time, I love spending quality time with my husband and two boys.
Having spent most of our lives living and working in London my partner and I made the decision to move down to Cornwall and within the month we were down here and ready to start our new lives. I have a legal background in Patents and Trademarks so joining FOLK2FOLK is a completely fresh and exciting start for me. I joined FOLK2FOLK in a temporary role within the lending team which very quickly became permanent. I like to spend my free time doing all sorts of crafty and creative projects and exploring Cornwall with my partner and our little Pomeranian.
As an Executive Director and one of FOLK2FOLK’s co-founders, I’m proud to be part of the great team we have here at FOLK2FOLK. I am also FOLK2FOLK's Legal Counsel and have extensive experience in property finance. Outside of FOLK2FOLK I sit on the Board of the Local Enterprise Partnership for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly as a Non-Executive Director and enjoy rowing and getting active in Cornwall with my two young children.
After starting my career in an investment bank, I relocated to the stunning Cornwall and joined FOLK2FOLK as a credit analyst, covering strategy, loan book analysis and institutional marketing. I am delighted to be part of a company that champions the rural economy. I am a keen foodie and an avid supporter of British farming, so naturally, in my spare time I love discovering all the local produce the area offers.
I joined FOLK2FOLK as Loans Administrator to support the Borrowing team. At present my role is constantly evolving, meaning my days are extremely varied! I live with my fiancé and our two daughters and our family time is spent exploring Cornwall, cooking, seeing friends and making memories.
I have worked at FOLK2FOLK since inception, initially in the lending team before moving to the borrower team, processing applications. I have remained in this team, which is now much larger than it was before! I have previous experience in administration and finance. Out of work I dedicate my time to my ‘Yorkiepoo’, Herbie, as well as cooking and entertaining.
I have had a long career in Commercial Banking previously working for both Lloyds and Nat West and I am now delighted to be able to use the skills obtained within Folk2Folk and be part of their continued success. I particularly enjoy the personal approach that is offered, and the best part of my job is being able to help businesses grow and prosper.
I now work on a part-time basis and that is allowing me to enjoy a great work-life balance in that I have an interesting and varied job and can also indulge in spending more time with family and enjoying my hobbies of golf, walking and socialising with friends.
After 20 years in Banking, I am delighted to be joining a company who truly believe in supporting local and regional businesses grow. I really enjoy interacting with our borrowers and investors on a personal basis, which I know they appreciate. I work part-time, and in my spare time enjoy gardening, (well helping my hubby with the gardening!) walking our dogs and having lots of fun with my three gorgeous grandchildren.
I have worked in Finance for over 40 years with the majority of that time spent in big ticket asset finance e.g. Planes, Trains & Automobiles. After a short career break I was delighted to join Roy Warren’s Team in FOLK2FOLK to put my experience to good use within a organisation dedicated to supporting local businesses and communities. Outside of work you will find me either on the golf course, tennis court or in the gym.
I have worked in finance for 15 years with the majority of that time being spent in a Risk and Portfolio Management role. I have managed portfolios across a number of sectors, but have primarily focused on film finance, property and rail assets. Joining FOLK2FOLK provides an opportunity to work within the Peer to Peer lending market. Outside of work I am kept busy by my two young sons.
Having worked in marketing and communications for global and multinational businesses in London, Singapore and Sydney for 20 years, I returned home to the countryside of Devon and Cornwall and began working with small and micro businesses; I have always admired the amazing energy and determination of the entrepreneurs that run them. I'm proud to work for FOLK2FOLK, a company that fills a vital gap in helping local and rural businesses flourish. Outside of work you'll find me running around after our two boys either on the moor, in the surf or on the rugby pitch!
After 22 years in Financial Services in London, I moved to Cornwall in 2014 for a seachange and joined FOLK2FOLK in 2015. I’m proud to work for a small local company that has now expanded nationally and delivers an invaluable service for the local community. Outside of work I enjoy walking along the beach with my son at home in Padstow.
I have recently joined FOLK2FOLK having been a qualified accountant for over 30 years working in a variety of organisations. I moved to Cornwall 13 years ago and love the lifestyle. Outside work I enjoy keeping fit, meeting friends for coffee and volunteering for the RNLI.
I have a background in Financial Services and joined FOLK2FOLK in 2016 as a Client Relationship Officer in the Loan Matching Team. In 2019 I moved to the Finance team within Folk2Folk as an Accounts Assistant . In my spare time I enjoy rugby (as a spectator only!), walking my dog and travelling.
I have worked in the financial services payments sector for most of my career, originally in Sales and Business Development and then moving into compliance consulting several years ago. I re-located to Devon from Buckinghamshire and was delighted to accept this role with FOLK2FOLK. It’s great to see how rural businesses, local SMEs and individuals are all being supported. Outside of work I enjoy walking on Dartmoor with various family members who come and visit us, growing my own fruit and veg at home and regular trips to Sandy Park to support the Chiefs.
I have moved to the area to take up this new position. I support our Head of Compliance on regulatory requirements and monitor that procedures are being followed to ensure we remain compliant within FCA rules. I couldn’t feel more lucky to be able work here using the experience I have gained in the big city whilst enjoying the beauty that this area has to offer. It really is the best of both worlds.
I support projects within the business which means my days and weeks are very varied! I work on anything from product launches to improving the ways we do everyday tasks. At home I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and enjoy songwriting, singing with my band and an array of creative hobbies.
I have enjoyed a varied career in H.R. I love being part of growing an innovative business like FOLK2FOLK and helping to develop a skilled and flexible team. Out of work my passions are keeping fit, spending time with my family and friends and spoiling my pug!
After spending 17 years in the Middle East working in the Asset Management industry, my family and I relocated to Cornwall, a part of the world we had come to love through spending many summers here! I was thrilled to discover an Institutional Investor role just up the road from us and love what FOLK2FOLK represents. In my spare time, I help my husband run Loading Bay 7, our busy café in Truro, and whenever possible, get out and explore the beautiful coastline and countryside we have on our doorstep, with our 2 boys and our very energetic spaniel!
