FOLK2FOLK Calls for IFISAs to Be a Recognised Part of the ISA Landscape
Today, FOLK2FOLK has submitted an open letter to the Chancellor, urging the government to ensure that Innovative Finance ISAs (IFISAs) are a recognised and valued part of the ISA landscape.
While ISA reform discussions have largely focused on Cash ISAs and Stocks & Shares ISAs, IFISAs, which already channel millions into UK businesses while offering tax-free fixed-income returns to investors, have been absent from the debate.
The letter, signed by FOLK2FOLK Chairman Tim Sawyer CBE, highlights:
- The growing demand for IFISAs; investment rose 46% last year (HMRC data).
- The IFISAs’ role in mobilising private capital for UK SMEs, supporting jobs and growth.
- Why maintaining a diverse range of ISA options is crucial for investors.
As the government considers the future of ISAs, we believe that ensuring investor choice remains at the heart of any reform is essential.
