We’re a friendly bunch at FOLK2FOLK and we love seeing the positive and life changing impact finance can have. We get to know our customers so we thought you might like to know a bit about us too. Over to you Becky…
I grew up on the outskirts of a village near Launceston. I originally wanted to be a chef, but after several years of study decided that a career in finance was more suited to me. I went on to enjoy 10 years with Halifax before deciding it was time to stretch my legs and I embarked on a trip around Europe with my dog making an excellent travelling companion!
Upon my return, I wanted to go back into finance and several people told me they had heard great things about a local company, FOLK2FOLK. It turns out they were recruiting for an ISA Manager and as soon as I saw the description of the company and the job I knew I had to apply. ISAs can be a bit tricky to get your head around but I always had a good understanding and really enjoyed them. I also really liked how unique FOLK2FOLK sounded and was excited that it was based in my home town.
I love the customer service side of my job. As a small business, customers can pick up the phone and get straight through to us, and we can usually answer any queries then and there. One of my favourite things is chatting with customers, explaining what we do and how their investment can help change the lives of others.
I’m really proud to have been able to help design FOLK2FOLK’s Innovative Finance ISA and see it grow to become such a great product. It’s satisfying to be able to play a part in creating something new, testing it out then being empowered to make changes.
I also love the fact that though FOLK2FOLK is a national business, it has kept its head office in my hometown in Cornwall. Having just become a Mum for the first time, it’s been great to be able to return to the role that I enjoy so much, and still be able to enjoy the beach with my dogs and daughter!
