How we maximise investor recovery
Getting your money back: our approach to recoveries
If a borrower defaults, our focus turns to recovering the funds owed. But enforcement isn’t one-size-fits-all — and our approach reflects that. Here’s how we work to maximise recovery outcomes for investors.
Why recovery isn’t always about rushing to receivership
Some investors may assume that selling the security property is the fastest or only option. But that’s not always the best route — particularly when cost, time and final value are factored in.
We consider:
- The borrower’s willingness and ability to cooperate
- The current and projected market value of the security
- Whether a refinance or voluntary sale could yield a better outcome
- The likely speed and cost of any enforcement process
Sometimes, the best result comes from allowing the borrower to repay voluntarily or sell the property. Other times, enforcement is necessary. Our aim is always to act in your best interest.
Our recovery principles
We don’t adopt a blanket enforcement policy, instead, we take a case-by-case approach to identify and determine the best recovery strategy to deliver the best outcomes for our investors. And we always aim for clear communication throughout the process. These principles are designed to give investors the best chance of getting their money back, as efficiently and fairly as possible.
