Folk2Folk continues to grow with two new appointments at its Somerset office

Folk2Folk announces the appointment of a new local team at its Midsomer Norton branch.

Since opening its Midsomer Norton branch in November 2014, Folk2Folk has introduced funding to local business and provided local investment opportunities for Lenders in Somerset.  With a focus on keeping money local and within the county, Folk2Folk offers a straightforward way for people to invest money in local business whilst benefitting from a competitive interest rate.

Roy Warren, Folk2Folk’s new Branch Manager, brings with him 35 years of experience in corporate banking, risk, credit and portfolio management, having held a number of senior positions, including that of Head of Structured Asset Finance at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Roy began his career with Lloyds Bank at the age of 18 before moving into merchant banking at Hill Samuel where he was instrumental in the development of their branch network.  He has extensive knowledge of managing businesses and ran his own consultancy business for three years advising on corporate recovery and restructuring.

Prior to joining Folk2Folk, Samantha Pitney spent several years in a variety of roles within the financial services sector before she founded and ran her own small business.  Local Samantha is the new Client Relations Officer based in Folk2Folk’s Midsomer Norton branch.

Folk2Folk is built upon traditional values and has enjoyed huge success in the South West region since its inception in 2013, introducing over £68 million of funding to date from local investment. The company has supported businesses and invested millions of pounds in the South West economy by lending to Borrowers in various industries including renewable energy, house building, leisure facilities and land and property acquisition.

The new appointments form part of the company’s wider growth strategy and expansion drive which will see Folk2Folk looking to replicate its local success nationally by opening new branches and networks and bringing an increased number of new Borrowers and Lenders to the business.

Folk2Folk’s newly appointed Manager of its Midsomer Norton branch, Roy Warren, said: “I am thrilled to be joining Folk2Folk. I have lived in the area for decades and am delighted to be working locally and being able to support local businesses through Folk2Folk.  It is wonderful to think of the excellent investment and business opportunities we will be bringing to Somerset and the benefits Midsomer Norton and its surrounding areas will see as a result of our ongoing presence here.”

Folk2Folk’s Chief Executive Officer, Jane Dumeresque, said: “Roy and Samantha bring years of experience and expertise to our Midsomer Norton office and further enhance the wider Folk2Folk team.  Folk2Folk has helped a huge number of businesses in the South West get off the ground, grow and expand whilst offering local people the opportunity to invest in local initiatives. These appointments are another significant step on our journey as we continue to build on our rapid growth in the region while also looking to expand further throughout the country.”
